These Terms & Conditions set clear expectations so everything runs smoothly on the day. By booking with us, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

We pride ourselves on professional and careful handling of your belongings. All our transport is fully insured, and we believe in transparent pricing with no hidden surprises. Booking, deposits & payments

To secure your booking with JXS services, a 50% upfront deposit is required.

Your appointment is confirmed only once this deposit has been received.

The remaining balance is due immediately after the job completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

All bookings are subject to a minimum service charge of £50, covering vehicle costs, staffing, and travel time.

Time is charged from arrival until completion, rounded to the nearest 30 minutes, allowing us to keep pricing fair.

We accept bank transfer, debit/credit card, and cash.

Payment must be made in full at the end of the job, and late payments may incur additional charges.

We reserve the right to withhold delivery of goods until outstanding balances are cleared where legally permitted.

Cancellations, rescheduling & missed appointments

For cancellations or rescheduling with 48+ hours’ notice, your deposit will be refunded or transferred to a new date.

With less than 48 hours’ notice, the deposit may be retained to cover lost time and operational costs.

If we arrive and cannot complete the job due to no one being present, unavailable access, items not ready, or incorrect details provided, the booking may be treated as a late cancellation, and additional charges may apply for rescheduling.

Should JXS services need to cancel due to events outside our control (e.g., severe weather, breakdown), you’ll receive a full refund or the option to rebook.

Your responsibilities

To help us deliver the best service possible, please ensure all items are packed, protected, and ready, unless the packing service was pre-booked.

You must provide accurate details about item sizes, weights, and property access.

Suitable parking must be arranged at both locations, and someone should be available at both collection and delivery points.

Additional time caused by delays due to these factors may be chargeable.

Appliance delivery & installation

JXS services can deliver and install selected appliances (like washing machines, fridges, tumble dryers, and dishwashers) when arranged in advance.

Please ensure connections are safe, compliant, and ready, and the space is accessible.

We do not provide electrical rewiring, plumbing modifications, gas connections, carpentry, or structural work.

We cannot accept responsibility for faults caused by pre-existing connections, incompatible fittings, or manufacturer defects.

Customers should test appliances after installation and report any issues promptly.

Fully insured for peace of mind

We carry Goods in Transit Insurance, covering loss or damage while items are in our vehicle, and Public Liability Insurance, protecting against injury or property damage during our work.

Claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery, and compensation is limited to insurer terms and maximum claim values.

For high-value goods, we strongly recommend arranging additional insurance.

Items not covered unless agreed in writing include cash, jewellery, watches, valuables, important documents, antiques, collectibles, fragile items not professionally packed, and customer-packed items with inadequate protection.

Liability & care of goods

We treat every item with care, but moving goods always carries some inherent risk. By booking our service, you acknowledge that items should be inspected upon delivery, pre-existing damage and normal transport wear cannot be claimed, and flat-pack or self-assembled furniture is moved at the customer’s risk. Items not designed to be moved may not be covered for damage. Where appropriate, we reserve the right to repair an item before offering compensation. Our total liability is limited to the coverage provided by our insurance policies.

Waiting time & additional charges

Extra fees may apply for waiting time beyond the agreed allowance, long carry distances, multiple flights of stairs, last-minute additional items, dismantling or reassembly not pre-booked, disposal requests, parking fines, tolls, or congestion charges. We always aim to communicate additional costs clearly and transparently.

Prohibited items & delays beyond our control

For safety and legal reasons, JXS services cannot transport hazardous or flammable substances, illegal goods, explosives, dangerous chemicals, or perishable items. We reserve the right to refuse any load that presents a safety risk. While we carefully schedule every job, factors like traffic, weather, road closures, and mechanical issues can occasionally cause delays. We cannot accept liability for losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Right to refuse or stop service & privacy

We may refuse or stop a job if conditions are unsafe, items were not declared, the load exceeds safe handling limits, or if there is abusive or threatening behaviour. Deposits may be retained where refusal is justified. Your information is used only to manage bookings and deliver our services. We never sell or share your data unless legally required.

Acceptance of terms

By confirming your booking and paying the deposit with JXS services, you formally agree to these Terms & Conditions.
